empress - malleable shore

Near the end of September I quit my job and instead of looking for a new one I simply locked myself in my room for a week and a half and recorded an album. malleable shore is the outcome. During that time I was listening to a lot of Organum, Matt Shoemaker's Spots in the Sun, and the latest Omit album. As a result and in taking influence from the stuff I was listening to, this is probably the most industrial sounding stuff I've made. The second track being the closest I will probably ever come to noise, although I think it is perpetual enough to break itself free from such labeling. I don't know, call it what you want. In any case, I really enjoyed working with scrap metal and you can expect more of this kind of thing from me in the future.

Thanks Matt, Jen and Joe for helping out and contributing photographs.

Sorry about the lack of posts lately. I'm going to take a short hiatus as I assemble the packaging for the new empress full length. My next post will be a detailed description of the new material. As of now I can say that it will be 4 tracks, roughly 40 minutes in length and entitled "malleable shore." 50 copies. Contact me if you want to reserve one. See you all after the storm passes.
